When we schedule a wedding we find out how they first heard about our studio. When Ellen started looking for a photographer her mom, Barb, suggested she come visit us. We had done some other family members so Barb knew the quality of our work. Once I arrived I did not realize how many people I was going to know until so many familiar faces started showing up. It was so nice to see how the family has grown over the years! While Ellen got ready upstairs at The Lodge on Grant’s Trail, I took some photos of Vince and his groomsmen. I asked if he was nervous – “nothing to be nervous about” he replied. He said that’s Ellen’s family had done such a great job of planning each detail that all he had to do was show up and marry his love. Made it super easy, also exciting for him! As the day went on I learned more and more about how they met each other. Such a nice story that aided the maid of honor and best man with their toast later in the evening. The best man talked about how Vince knew he was going to marry Ellen to which he responded “have you even talked to her yet” Then the maid of honor shared some cute nick names that the two have for each other – you had to be there to hear them! Vince is a dj and it was hard for him to not mess with the equipment during the reception. I totally understand, I can’t attend and event without looking around to see who is taking photos and what they are doing. Despite the rainy afternoon I took the couple outside for some photos between rain clouds. The staff at the lodge was really great at getting me a plastic bag for Ellen to stand on. I didn’t want her dress to soak up the rain water but I knew the outdoor photos would be amazing. They are going to have a hard time narrowing down their favorites. Looking forward to seeing this great couple at Ellen’s sister’s wedding in a month. Congrats Vince and Ellen!
