Jessica and Shawn

October 17, 2019

I met Jessica because she worked at a chiropractor office for many years. She was the happy receptionist that greeted you when you walked in! We chatted about many different things each time we saw each other, sometimes about the appointment and other times about what was going on in our lives. She mentioned a guy named Shawn one time and I didn’t think much of it until she was wearing an engagement ring one day. It was very exciting to hear about the proposal and how their kids get along so well. Between the two of them they have 5 children – that’s keeping them busy I’m sure. We briefly talked about wedding packages as I hoped she would select me to be the photographer. After some research she realized that we really do have a wonderful package price so was happy to inform me that she wanted me to be at the wedding. When she stepped out of the car she was stunning! I am so use to her being in something simple at work and here she was all dressed up with perfect makeup ready to see Shawn at the park location we selected. The first look went perfectly even though it was much warmer on the September day than anyone would have thought it would be. So we worked quickly at the park making sure to get some fun photos with the kids as well as the wedding party. The ceremony and reception were at Old Stone in St. Charles. It was nice for us to get there a bit early so they had time to relax prior to the ceremony. Shawn and Jessica wrote their own vows bringing a tear to my eye which of course I had to quickly wipe away so I could capture the first kiss as husband and wife. Straight to the party, exactly what the couple wanted. They enjoyed every moment of the reception until the very end with a sparkler exit. I’m so happy that I met Jessica, learned the story about her and Shawn and then captured this wonderful wedding. I look forward to working with them again in the future.
