It may not be easy pulling double duty as both Matron-of-Honor and photographer for your younger sister’s wedding, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way! When Katrina and Zach got engaged in 2016 I was so excited to help them with the whole wedding process, but especially the photos! They chose February 24th for their date and picked The Thaxton for their venue, a fun, historic building decorated in a 1920’s Art Deco style. Even though rain moved in that afternoon, it couldn’t dampen the party! Katrina was relaxed while she got ready to head downtown and meet her groom. The bridal party met at The Thaxton where Katrina and Zach had a wonderful first look, Zach could hardly wait to turn around and see Katrina! After that we headed to the St. Louis City Hall for some elegant indoor photos. The bridal party rode there in a horse-drawn carriage, and we managed to stay mostly dry on the way there!
The grand marble staircase and elaborate interior at City Hall makes a great spot for wedding photos when the weather isn’t cooperating. We had plenty of time for a variety of images, after which the bridal party headed back to The Thaxton for some more photos before the evening ceremony. Luckily when we arrived back the rain had stopped, and we were able to get some outdoor photos in the alley behind the building. Zach even had a family member who brought his vintage 1920’s Ford to complete the look for the photos! After the ceremony it was time to relax and eat! Everyone headed downstairs to the Speakeasy themed bar for cocktails while the hall was set-up for dinner. Before dancing Katrina and Zach finished up some photos of just the two of them with The Thaxton’s elevator and some fun nighttime photos. Their wedding day was certainly one to remember, and we wish Katrina and Zach all the best as they start married life together!
