Just a few short weeks ago I did a pregnancy session for Taylor.
We knew her baby girl would be here soon but wanted to wait until she arrived to set up the session. There is always a plan going into labor but you never know if that work perfect or when you will be coming home from the hospital. Taylor ended up spending a bit longer in the hospital but both her and Genevieve came home to many excited family members coming into St. Louis to visit. They have had weekends full of visitors so we waited a few extra days before we set up the newborn session. When she arrived I couldn’t believe how small she was! Only 5lbs, just a tiny little bit. She was a full term healthy bundle of joy, she just seemed so small compared to my boys that were over 8lbs. Knowing Taylor and Chris I could see how happy they were when we started family photos. Genevieve even smiled in a few while being snuggled with love. After a quick bottle – and boy was it quick! She was in a milk coma, perfect for a newborn session. I was able to breeze through multiple wraps, backgrounds and poses without a problem. The little bit was moldable and as sweet as could be. Chris mentioned how much patience is needed for a newborn session. It’s true that some babies take a bit more time to move from one thing to another however Genevieve made my job easy. Taylor said she would love to photograph newborn because then you would get to snuggle with them…Yep. Holding the babies, rocking them to sleep and placing them perfectly on the pillows is one of my favorite parts. My boys are growing so big so fast that I love the little moments other moms trust me to care for their little additions. Genevieve will be a part of our family forever so I am excited to see her grow and capture the moments.
